Towards the end of 2024 we launched a Fundraising Appeal to help us address some significant maintenance and rectification projects that required urgent attention at The Abbey.
Thanks to the generosity of donors, we are pleased to share that the Works Program at The Abbey has been progressing well, although there is still much to do.
Stage One of the Re-Roofing Project is now complete, along with major drainage works. This work included readjusting the contour of the land to build swales so that rainwater can flow efficiently to areas away from the building. It also includes replacing the rotting timber walls, window frames, doors and ceilings that have been damaged by water as well as wear and tear.
In October 2025, a follow up work started, including putting down top soil on all the areas that have been dug up, along with some turf and grass seed planting. We could say that this is recovery work where the land starts to heal.
The next project is the Second Stage of fixing the leaking roof, which will be done as funds allow.
With all of this in mind, we are very grateful for all who have assisted us with all the maintenance work around the building so far, contractors and volunteers alike. We would also like to say a special thank you to all our donors who have enabled us to do this work. We continue to hold you all in our prayer. May the Lord shower his blessings upon you.
Your continued support is helping to ensure that The Abbey remains a place of prayer, rest and spiritual refreshment for people into the future.
