RB 64:9-11, 15 –  ⁹ The abbess must be chaste, temperate and merciful. ¹⁰ She should always let mercy triumph over judgment (Jas 2:13) so that she too may win mercy. ¹¹ She must hate faults but love the sisters … ¹⁵ Let her strive to be loved rather than feared.
