Oblate Retreat

April 20, 2015 | Current News

On February 21st and 22nd, we had our first Oblate Retreat for 2015. Over 10 ten Oblates or Oblate Novices attended the retreat which brought us all together as a community.

The topic for the sharings was “Sacred Reading” and “Sacred Listening”. Sr. Hildegard (Oblate Director) based these sharings on the work of Charles Cummings, ocso, in “Monastic Practices”. Honesty and reality characterised both days as we shared our struggles with Lectio Divina and prayer in general.

On February 21st, during Mass, Alice-Anne Macnaught of Canberra, made her commitment as an Oblate of our Community. Alice-Anne took the name “Hildegard” after St. Hildegard of Bingen. Following her oblation, the other Oblates who were present, renewed their commitment.
