Work
The monastery is self-sufficient so we do our own cooking, washing and care for the gardens and grounds surrounding the Abbey. One sister is full-time caring for the grounds and others are involved in the cooking, caring for guests and prayer guidance with guests, finances, formation, library, infirmary (care of our elderly sisters and the sick), sewing of habits, liturgy, study & research.

Work is an integral part of monastic life, and in the spirit of St. Benedict, the nuns earn their living by the work of their hands.

The main remunerative work of the community is the production of Liturgical Crafts:

Candles for all occasions:
Prayer, Sacramental Ceremonies, Liturgical Seasons, School Graduations etc.

All candles come with a specially designed sticker (which may be personalized) and hand decorated with pressed flowers or native gum leaves/nuts/flowers or hand- painted.

Baptismal Garments embroidered.
Tooled leather covers for Lectionaries, Bibles, Missals etc.
Icons mounted on wood.
Prayer stools and candle stands crafted in wood.
