The Jamberoo Abbey community is an 'enclosed' community.
This means that the community lives and works within the Abbey proper in a spirit of openness to all in prayer and hospitality.

Enclosure enables the community
to live their vocation faithfully,
to pray,
to keep silent,
to wait upon the Lord.

Enclosure is not an imposition but rather a gift from the Church, which recognizes the monastic vocation as a ministry of prayer and worship and gives the freedom to live that vocation.
